Have you ever wished you had a measuring stick of sorts, a consistent way of measuring if you were on the right track, and making progress toward all the goals in your life? Well, wait no more – because today I am going to teach you how to craft a personal mission statement.

Last week I sent an email out to my newsletter list, describing all the exciting ways The Writing Whisperer Community is growing and evolving.

And after I pushed the send button, I realized that what I really needed to do was create a mission statement for the year. A statement that would become my guide for growth, my measuring stick to use when planning new programs, services, and events. I’m so excited to share it with you!

My mission is to help business owners become thought leaders, through the use of strategic content, so they can positively impact more people.

Pretty powerful stuff, huh?

I’d like to teach you how to craft your own mission statement, so you can have a measuring stick by which to measure your own goals and initiatives this year.

Three Easy Steps to Crafting Your Mission Statement

1 – Begin with the end in mind. What do you want to accomplish this year?

(In my statement, this is the part that reads: “My mission is to help business owners become thought leaders,”)

2 – How will you accomplish your mission?

(In my statement, this is the part that reads: “through the use of strategic content,”)

3 – Why is this mission so important to you?

(In my statement, this is the part that reads: “so they can positively impact more people.”)

It’s your turn! Please leave a comment below once you have your mission statement crafted, as I’d love to read it!
